Welcome to the delightful realm of Big Wong Hongkong Charsiu Madu, a barbecue restaurant that promises to tantalize your taste buds with its exquisite offerings. Nestled in the bustling PTC area of Surabaya, East Java, this charming eatery specializes in traditional Chinese barbecue, with a particular focus on their signature dish, the Charsiu Madu (Honey Pork).

The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a vibrant atmosphere adorned with stunning red hues that evoke the essence of Chinese culture. The seating is ample, yet be aware that finding a table during peak meal times might prove to be a challenge, as locals flock to savor the culinary delights here.

Big Wong’s menu does not just stop at the honey pork; all their offerings are crafted with care, yet the Charsiu Madu truly shines. Customers rave about the perfect balance of sweetness and a tantalizing charred grill flavor. The pork, which is tender and juicy, boasts a brilliant marinade that envelops each piece, providing a mouthwatering moistness that many crave. Lya Susanto, a satisfied customer, expressed her delight in the dish's lack of crispiness, emphasizing that it keeps the meat soft and enjoyable for diners of all ages.

For those who enjoy a little kick, the accompanying sambal and sauces provide an exciting punch to each bite. Vanessa Jocelyn, a regular patron, cannot get enough of the menu, routinely returning for the flavorful Nasi Hainan Special alongside her beloved Charsiu Madu.

Beyond the honey pork, the restaurant offers an array of dishes, including the well-marinated Hainan Rice, and flavorful bowls of noodles that are known for their generous portions and delightful textures. Zefanya Gerald Winata, another enthusiastic diner, praised the perfect cooking of the pork and encouraged others to try their noodle offerings, which feature crispy pork and a generous helping of charsiu.

The pricing, while not the cheapest in town at around IDR 60,000 per dish, is considered reasonable when weighed against the quality and portion sizes served. With each dish crafted to perfection, Big Wong Hongkong Charsiu Madu is more than just a meal; it’s an experience that beckons you to return time and time again.

If you're exploring the food scene in Surabaya, make sure not to miss this hidden gem. Big Wong Hongkong Charsiu Madu is ready to satisfy your cravings with its delightful barbecue offerings and a warm atmosphere that keeps customers coming back for more. Enjoy your culinary journey!

Food - Food is yummy! My siblings and I recommend getting their Chasiu Madu (Honey Pork). The amount of sweetness and taste of charred grill is just right. Not being crispy means that the meat is not dry and quite soft. Can be enjoyed by everyone from kids to elderly. Though my personal preference is something that’s more crispy, I will come back for more! The sambal and sauces are give quite a kick, I like! Service - The owners are super nice and helpful with food recommendation as it was our first visit. Food are served very quickly as well. Ambience - Nestled in the middle of the sea of food places at PTC, the place sticks to a Chinese theme with red dominating the store front. Concept quite on point and seats are quite ample but I imagine getting a table during meal time might be a challenge

Been here every week, love all their menu especially Nasi Hainan Special! Super love their chasiu madu Very tasty!!

I remembered to save this place a long time ago, Finally I got the chance to check their food. The Hainan Rice with Honey Charsiu, well I would say the Charsiu is well marinated and not overcooked (Crisp, sweet, tasty), Siobak is also tasty and still juicy. The drag down is the Hainan Rice not so good, they seasoned their White Rice (I don't know perhaps with orange leaves) not the authentic Hainanese Rice. For their bowl of noodles, I highly recommend as it is very soft, potion is big and crispy pork, Charsiu and honey Charsiu toppings is fair portion Price of each food at IDR. 60.000,- not so cheap but it is average compared to other pork food stalls. On picture : 1. Hainan Rice with Porks. 2. Special Hongkong Noodle Definitely would come back

I was walking around looking for something to eat and saw this place, tried and was way better than I expected. Love the Mie Keriting .

Non halal. PTC side. Serving at the alley. Portion is more than enough for single. 70K.

Located in food area at PTC. We tried mie Hongkong special, nasi hainan special & nasi Hongkong special. The honey charsiu is very good and the siobak is tasty & crunchy. Be ready to queque because this resto have lots of customers.
